Around 1 am this morning, Thursday 2nd January 2025, a fire broke out in the Kantamanto market area, destroying about 100 stores.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service, 13 fire vehicles were sent throughout Accra to put out the early-morning fire close to the Ghana Commercial Bank.
Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported. On-scene firefighters reported that they had successfully contained the fire.
As it stands now, the cause of the fire hasn’t yet been disclosed by the Ghana National Fire Service personnel.
